MANILA – Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, one of the country’s most influential Catholic Church leaders, died on Wednesday. He was 86.
Vidal had been confined at a Cebu City hospital due to pneumonia. His spokesman, Jun Perez, confirmed his passing.
He passed away in the intensive care unit at 7.28 a.m., said a DZMM report quoting Msgr. Joseph Tan, spokesperson of the Cebu archdiocese.
